Cartoonist

He was born in 1946 in Kemerovo.
In 1975 he graduated from in Ceramics from the Stroganoff MVHPU. From 1975-1983 he made
wall mosaics for Friendship Houses in Kabul, Tunisia and Sofia. He worked as an artist of monumental and decorative art, was engaged in easel graphics and painting.
Participated in many Moscow, national and international exhibitions. His works are in a private collections in Germany, Italy, England and the USA.
Also Gennady Zhivotov is a head of the Artdesign educational centre. Professor of the Russian State University for the Humanities.

Awards:
For the Afghan Diary series he was awarded with a silver medal.
In 2004 he was awarded with the title of Honored Artist of the Russian Federation.
In 2007 he was awarded with the “90 years of the Great October Socialist Revolution” medal on behalf of the Central Committee of the Communist Party.

He is a cartoonist of the Zavtra newspaper.
Member of the Artists Union of the Russian Federation.
Honored Artist of the Russian Federation.
