He was born on October 11, 1962.
He studied at the school № 2 in Liepaja, Latvia, where he also visited an art studio.
After graduation he studied at the Leningrad Higher Artillery School.
After the service he worked as head of the laboratory at the Liepaja Machine-Building Plant, a projectionist.
In 1990, he was one of the first to receive the City Hall patent for individual creative entrepreneurial activities, within which he worked on postcards and illustrations.
After moving to St. Petersburg, he worked as a safety engineer at a shipyard, in various state and private enterprises.
