Rashid Usmanov and a group of his fellow students (Mustafin, Taichinov) were at the origins of the creation of a modern school of cartoonists in the Republic of Bashkiria.

Back in boarding school, fate brought Mahmud together with Rashid Galeev. There was such a custom at school: new arrivals from orphanages or from other instances of kids were taken under their patronage by older guys. Once in school, Rashid realized that he was irresistibly drawn to drawing. Thus began a great friendship between two street children in the past, and later talented artists. Leaving school, Mahmoud said to Rashid: “From now on, you are like a brother to me, we are brothers, and I will never leave you.” And Rashid Galeev decided to change his surname to the surname of his “brother” and began to be called Usmanov Rashid Fakhrislamovich, it is under this surname that we know this Ufa artist today.
