He was born in 1927 in San Roque, near Gibraltar.
He studied painting and journalism, and combined these two disciplines throughout his professional life.
In 1959, he fled to Paris, fearing arrest for political dissent. There he worked in the newspapers “Le Monde Diplomatique” and “L’Humanite”, a theater artist. She is engaged in radio programs, exhibitions and theatrical criticism, as a journalist.
After the fall of the Franco regime, in 1975, Vasquez returned to Spain, and began collaborating with leading Spanish publications (El Mundo, El Independiente, Diario 16, Interviú). During his life, he experienced a lot: dismissal, prison, family breakdown, censorship.
