Prado Gustavo Pitin

Habana, Cuba

Cartoonist, graphic artist

Born in 1931 in Ranchuelo.
Starting with a self-taught drawing for advertising, Prado became one of Cuba’s most famous graphic artists. A distinctive feature of his creative manner is laconism. But, not looking at the stinginess of visual means, the artist knows how to achieve amazing subtlety and expressiveness of the drawing.
For twenty years of creative activity Prado has created a huge number of caricatures devoted to the most important international events. For a number of years, his political drawings have been published in the newspaper Granma, in many foreign publications. Prado was repeatedly awarded the National Salon of Humor “Oracio Rodriguez Suria” and many other competitions.

Currently, Prado is an artist-cartoonist of the magazine Palante.
