He was born in 1922 in the village of Bucha of the Railway district of the Kiev region.
In 1951 he graduated from the Moscow Architectural Institute.
He studied with M.I. Kurilko.
During the Great Patriotic War, he fought as part of the 70th Guards Mortar Regiment, was a radio operator. Private.
He was awarded the Order of the Patriotic War II degree, medals “For Bravery”, two medals “For Military Merit”, “For the victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945” and others.
Since 1962 he has been participating in exhibitions.
In 1964 he became a member of the Union of Artists of the USSR.
In 1970, he was awarded the medal “For Labor Valor”.
In 1989 he was awarded the Order of Honor.
In 1983, he was awarded the title of “Honored Artist of the RSFSR”.
In 1979, he was awarded the prize for participation in the International Exhibition of Drawings on Sports topics in Ancona (Italy).
Honorary Medal of the international exhibition of cartoons of the Tokyo newspaper “Iomiuri” (Japan).
In 1967, 1984, 1985, solo exhibitions were held in Moscow, in 1978 — in Sofia, in 1983 — in Kabul, in 1986 — in Tallinn, in 1987 — in Berlin.
Author of numerous collections of cartoons, including “Cartoons” (1969), “Let’s get acquainted” (1975), “Muscovites smile” (1977), “Elbrus smeshinki” (1980), albums “From the Afghan album” (1983) and “Afghan Silhouettes” (1988) and an illustrated essay “Front-line sketches” /Yu. F. Dyuzhenko, Yu. A. Cherepanov “Works of participants of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945. Book Z.” M., 2005.
Honored Artist of the Russian Federation.
