Ajauskas Valentinas

Cartoonist, painter, engravings, illustrator.

Valentinas Ajauskas was born in 1948 05 04, Kaunas.
1966 – 1973 studied graphics at Vilnius Art Institute (now the Academy of Fine Arts).
1980 – until now is a member of the Lithuanian Artists’ Association.
Lives and works in Vilnius.

Works in the areas of engraving (etching, serigraphy), painting, ex-libris, posters, book illustrations, cartoons.
Since 1970 participating in various exhibitions in Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Russia, Finland, Sweden, Poland, Germany, Bulgaria, Italy, USA, Canada, France, Australia. His works have been purchased by the Vilnius Art Museum, Kaunas M.K.Čiurlionis Art Museum, “Del Bello” gallery in Toronto (Canada), “Humor and Satire Museum” in Gabrovo (Bulgaria) and collectors from various countries. The artist held 30 solo exhibitions of paintings and graphics. Participated in more than 200 group exhibitions in different countries.

For the graphic works has won 34 awards. Main awards:
– in the International Graphic Biennial of Moldova won the first place (2013);
– in the Sint-Niklaas (Belgium) International Ex-libris and Small Graphic Contest won the Sint-Niklaas City Award of the best ex-libris (2009);
– prize winner of Argentine International Ex-libris Competition “Sun and Moon”, organized by Claudio Leon Sempere Museum (2004).
