Russian artist of the late XIX – early XX century. Known under the pseudonym Paul Assaturov. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts and then in Munich. His cartoons and drawings were published in satirical magazines of the period of the first Russian revolution of 1905-1907 (“Buravchik”, “Zazrylschik”, “The Day’s Wrath”, “Fires of Life”, “Petrushka”, “Free Laughter”). He is also known as the author of advertising posters for films, including the posters of the first Russian feature film Ponizova Volnitsa (Stenka Razin, 1908).
